Local Colour Dropper - Privacy Policy for Local Colour Dropper

Effective date: 20 May 2026

Local Colour Dropper is a Chrome extension that lets you pick a colour from your screen, copy colour values, and keep a short list of recently selected colours.

Data We Collect

Local Colour Dropper does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal data.

The extension stores only your recent colour selections locally in your browser. These are simple colour values, such as #FFFFFF, and are saved using Chrome's local extension storage so they can appear in your recent colours list.

How Data Is Used

Recent colour values are used only to provide the extension's core functionality: showing your previously selected colours.

The extension may write selected colour values to your clipboard when you choose to copy or pick a colour. It does not read from your clipboard.

Data Sharing

We do not share extension data with third parties.

We do not use analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, remote servers, or external databases in this extension.

Data Storage

Recent colours are stored locally on your device through Chrome's extension storage. You can remove them at any time using the clear option inside the extension, or by uninstalling the extension.

Permissions

Local Colour Dropper uses the following Chrome permissions:

  • storage: to save recent colour selections locally in your browser.
  • clipboardWrite: to copy selected colour values to your clipboard when requested.

Chrome Web Store User Data Policy

The use of information received from Chrome APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated if the extension's functionality changes. Any updates will be posted on this page.
